Host FAQs for Listing

Commercial venues, schools, sports clubs, churches, village halls and other organisations can list spaces for hire if they have the right to offer them.

No. You can list a space you manage if you have clear written permission from its owner or governing body.

Yes. You need appropriate public liability insurance for venue hire. GoVenue may ask for proof.

Creating and publishing a listing is free. You set the venue price and receive 100% of it; Guests pay a separate GoVenue fee shown before booking.

Prepare clear photos and a description of each space, including its capacity, opening hours, facilities, prices, access details and rules. Explain any restrictions that matter to Guests.

Yes. Give each space a distinct name, such as “Sports Hall” or “Meeting Room”, so Guests know what they are booking.

Yes. Add the available hours, facilities and equipment for each space separately so Guests can see what is included.

Yes. You can set pricing rules for individual spaces, including different rates for peak and off-peak periods.

Keep the space’s GoVenue calendar up to date and block dates or times when it cannot be hired.

Spaces may be offered for online booking or enquiry. Choose the approach that suits the way you manage each space.

Host FAQs for Bookings, Payments and Issues

Agree the date, price and details with the Guest through GoVenue, then create a booking for them to accept and pay for online. An enquiry alone is not a confirmed booking.

Yes. State your capacity, permitted activities and rules clearly, including any restrictions on noise, alcohol, equipment or access to particular areas.

You can offer relevant extras, such as equipment or other services. Make their prices and what is included clear before the Guest confirms the booking.

Provide accurate arrival and access instructions for each space. GoVenue sends them to Guests before their booking, and you can clarify details through platform messages.

Stripe processes the payment. If no issue is raised within 48 hours after the booking ends, your venue payment is released to your chosen bank account seven days after it ends.

If the Guest cancels at least seven days before the booking, they receive a refund of the venue price. For later cancellations, the refund percentage you set applies. The GoVenue Guarantee fee is not refunded when a Guest cancels.

Cancel through your dashboard and tell the Guest as soon as possible. They receive a full refund, including the GoVenue Guarantee fee. Frequent or late cancellations may affect your account.

Ask them to request changes through GoVenue before the booking. Review the activity, attendee numbers and outside suppliers against your capacity, rules and insurance requirements.

Report the issue promptly through GoVenue and provide relevant photos, messages and other evidence. If you and the Guest cannot agree within 48 hours of the report, either of you can escalate it. GoVenue will consider both sides’ evidence and make a decision within 72 hours of escalation. That decision closes GoVenue’s internal process, without removing either party’s legal rights. For damage or other Host losses, GoVenue helps with communication but does not reimburse you.

Explain any proposed damage amount, when it may apply and how it would be handled before the Guest accepts. Keep appropriate insurance for your venue.

Guest FAQs for Searching and Booking

GoVenue brings together spaces from commercial venues, schools, sports clubs, churches, village halls and other local Hosts. Check individual listings for the activities they allow.

Search by location and date, then compare the spaces shown. Check each listing’s capacity, facilities, price, hours and rules.

Some Hosts offer online booking; others need to discuss your plans and confirm details first. An enquiry does not reserve or confirm a space.

Yes. Message the Host through GoVenue about anything important to your plans, such as layout, equipment, accessibility or permitted activities.

Check the exact space and facilities included, capacity, booked times, venue rules, cancellation terms and total price.

Check your booking status and confirmation in GoVenue. A message or enquiry on its own is not a confirmed booking.

Ask the Host through GoVenue. Changes need the Host’s agreement and may affect the price or whether the space is suitable.

Tell the Host before booking. Outside suppliers may need approval, insurance or compliance with venue rules.

Your total includes the venue price, a separate GoVenue Guarantee fee and any extras you agree to buy. Review all charges shown before you pay.

It offers booking protection if the space is inaccessible at the agreed time, materially different from its listing, or affected by a major problem that prevents reasonable use. It does not cover a change of mind or minor inconvenience. Check the Guest Terms for conditions and exclusions.
